Here's a complete time lapse video of my epic laocoon drawing, one of those being shown at the Whitewall MK exhibition from 5th February to 5th March. I'll post a flyer here too.

I spent this afternoon measuring up for a commission. The client has commissioned a sculpture of his hand holding a ball for his wife. Before any carving can start there are lots of measurements to take from photographs. This is the third time I've started this as the pieces of walnut and cherry I initially selected were both rotten. Luckily I discovered this fairly quickly and I had already warned the client that things might take a while.

New painting on the go...

I have a day in the studio and no model to work from again. The perennial problem for the figurative artist. So I put this proposition out there: If you would like to be painted by me and are prepared to submit yourself to modelling sessions at your convenience then please let me know. I'm afraid you won't get the painting or any money but I'll buy you lunch and keep you in tea or coffee. We can do this for as long or as short a period as you wish, and there's no pressure to continue at any point.

Think about it.

This video is eight hours compressed into forty seconds.

The eyes have it.

I felt this needed a bit of work on the pop-eye. Odd how making something public just makes you see things you'd been denying. I also love the texture of this painting.
